I support the idea that school committees should provide schools with general directions and strategies and add particular plans for particular schools. Otherwize, there won't be any changes for better, if all the directives are not developed with the requirements of specific schools.Personally, when I was a high-school student I didn't take school seriously because of this fact and always used homework help online services, like Homework-Desk.com.

I would like to point out, that as a public employee, I paid 11.2 % to my pension plan as was indicated by your earlier reader and then I was also taxed for SS which I will not be able to recover, as if I should try to do so, my pension will be decreased by the amount that SS delivers. This is in addition to all the SS I paid for the 11 years I worked two jobs, one as a private employee and one as a public employee. I also was able to create a 403B fund for myself, using moneys I made at a part time job. There are many of us in this boat, who have had no response from those in the know about how to correct this. We are told that we would be 'double dipping." If you ask me, (and I grant you, no one did) we are the ones getting dipped.
What I would like to see addressed, should you choose to pursue this further, is the reasoning behind the fact that state reps and senators CAN recover both SS and a pension with no penalty. I have asked Rep. Tsongas this very question, to be met with a lot of the double talk for which she is famous and no real answer. Thank you for putting your time and energy into this investigation.

Dear Senator Brown;

Senator Brown the reason both the right and the left are not happy with you is because you want to be the “man in the middle”. It is not that you are "doing something right", but it is that you are continuously positioning yourself to be someone who can be brought over to either side of the aisle. You are playing a political game and we see right through your antics, but as was evidenced by the recent mid-term election, that the American people are also tired of these games.

You claim to be an "independent voice", which means you, are in a sense, someone who can be swayed to either side. When it is convenient you can vote with the Democrats on one piece of legislation", which as you often say " is good for Massachusetts" and when you decide you want to vote with the Republicans, on what you determine to be a good piece of legislation, you can do that also. Basically, whichever way the wind blows, and whatever mood fancies the Senator, you can decide which way or with what party you will align yourself. You are an "independent voice", and he won't be told what to do by any party. You have completely lost the people, who worked so hard and gave so much to elect you. We are fed up with the games and the politics. You are as political as any of member of the Senate. If you want to be an “independent voice”, why are you a Republican? What you fail to realize, Senator Brown, is that Republicans need you to stand up and stand straight and join ranks with the rest of the Party members. The Republican Leadership needs everyone with an "R", to band together. Now is not the time to play political football with the direction of the country and it certainly isn't the time to be bi-partisan on any of these critical issues.

It has become evident to us, Senator Brown, that you are only interested in you own political career and what is best for Scott Brown. You are not interested in moving the country forward and you are not interested in stopping the Obama Administration and the rest of the socialist agenda in its tracks. This is not your priority. Your only priority is to win re-election. This is what makes Scott Brown tick.
It is time for the games to end and for Senator Brown to take a stand as to where his allegiances lie. It is time to get out of the middle and to decide what side of the aisle you are on.

We will not lift our little pinky finger for you during your re-election. You have shown no intestinal fortitude and we expected more from someone in your position and from someone who appeared to have so much promise when you were elected in January. Make no mistake about it Senator Brown the money that fueled your campaign from around the country was not from “Independents” or RINO Republicans, but from Tea Party supporting conservatives. The US Senate is not the Great and General Court of Massachusetts and you are not a token member who is always in a position of weakness. The destiny of our great Country is in your hands and you have taken an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Our Constitution is being eroded and you have a responsibility to stand shoulder to shoulder with your fellow Republicans to prevent further erosion and repeal the unconstitutional legislation passed in this session

It is time to “Man Up” and stop playing these games, or you will no longer find yourself in the middle with your "independent voice", but on the outside with no voice at all.

Nice in-depth intellectual editorial. Deval Patrick is responsible for all the unemployment in this state, in fact he is responsible for all the unemployment in the US and world. It's also his fault that the Bruins blew a 3-0 game lead. Since you think you're brilliant enough to write this column, why don't you enlighten us all on how Patrick's policies led to the unemployment situation in this state? Please tell us all how it had nothing to do with the national/international/global meltdown in Oct 2008.
BTW Craig Smith...who you wrote so eloquently about in March 7,2010 died this AM of cancer....I'm sure your sensitive words greatly comforted him in his last hours...
