:-)
Seriously, I just moved back after nine years in Costa Rica much of each year.
I do some freelance writing, tend bar or sling high end hash when I need to, I did that most most summers for nine years after I left social work and just dumped the money into my modest little property in CR.
I came back this winter due to some family reasons and, as I look around, I don't know how people are making it.
For convenience, I leased a place in Nbpt for six months.
Every day when i walk downtown, and I grew up around here when Nbpt was a pit, I'm astounded at the number of Mercedes, Bimmers, and 30 thousand dollar plus SUV's all over the place.
Are all those people that rich? Or are many leveraged to the max and in way over their heads.
I'm beginning to seriously think it's the latter rather than the former.
It's nuts. We Americans, regardless of our political persuasions, are consumer junkies!
It really blows my mind.
